I have been painting the background today, making slight colour variations between warm and cool tones to capture the flow of the material.

For the table cloth I used mainly titanium white and a mixture of titanium white and cadmium yellow. I'll be working on the shadows behind the apple again tomorrow. I'll also be painting the second pass of colour over the apple, using linseed oil with the oil paint to create glazes.
